Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™ 07712 775672 Lisa qualified with First Class Honours from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1996. During her degree course she gained the Aitken-Smith silver medal for anatomy, finished first in her finals and attained The Queen Mother Travel Scholarship. Winning this latter award facilitated further enhancement of her equine knowledge at Cornell University, New York State. In her 20 years of veterinary practice she worked with small animals and equidae but ultimately her passion for Equipilates™ took precedence. Lisa has a strong background in equestrianism. Having ridden from an early age with Killultagh Pony Club and then later as a veterinary student was fortunate to join the early morning gallops at Mark Johnsons’ Racing Stables in Middleham. She developed a very successful partnership with a horse which she purchased as a 4yo on her return from university. Together they worked up through the levels of Eventing culminating in the completion of Bramham three day event and gaining a place on the long list for the Irish Event team prior to the European Championships. Unfortunately her horse sustained a career ending injury at Bramham. Nowadays Lisa competes in Dressage, Working Hunter, Show Jumping and Eventing. Lisa’s interest in rider asymmetry started around 15 years ago when she realised that different horses she rode developed the same bad habits. She began attending Pilates classes in an attempt to rectify this and the difference it made on her riding and body awareness was extremely positive. |
Through Equipilates™ Lisa attained the level 3 YMCA Diploma in Matwork Pilates in July 2016 and the Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™ certificate in December 2016. She also gained her Horse Sport Ireland Level 1 Coaching certificate in December 2016 and has applied to take the Advanced Biomechanics Trainer Certificate in 2017.
