Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™
I’m originally from the North East of England and was bitten by the pony bug at a young age. I have ridden on and off for the past 40 years competing in eventing, show hunter and dressage. I have coached with a rider focus at local pony clubs and riding stables since emigrating to NZ in 2000.
In 2018 I experienced the benefits of lessons with an Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™. I saw a gap in the delivery of focused off horse training for riders and further research inspired me to qualify as a teacher of the Pilates method to the high standard required that would enable me to study in the UK as an Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer.
Since qualifying as an Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™ in 2019 I’ve worked with riders of all levels experiencing quite remarkable changes in their riding and horse’s way of going. Benefits are frequently noticed after just one week of commitment to the programme. The Equipilates™ techniques prove again and again to be ‘the missing link’ between a traditional rider fitness plan and a positive effect to resolve/improve common rider issues. Even clients who are injured still come along and sit in on group classes as they learn so much from them! I’ve certainly never experienced a client turn up to a regular mat Pilates class to sit and watch!
I can’t wait to head to the UK for the Advanced course at Equipilates HQ and am excited to be part of an amazing group of Equipilates Biomechanics Trainers™ around the world committed to helping riders be the best they can for their horses. I’m so grateful I discovered Equipilates and Lindsay Wilcox-Reid!
My studio and arena is in Waimauku, North-West Auckland. I can travel and am available for 1:1 sessions on horse and off, dismounted group classes and workshops.
