Advanced Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™ [email protected] www.chilternriderpilates.com 07762 380816 My name is Tracy Crook; I'm a Chartered Physiotherapist, Veterinary Physiotherapist and Advanced Equipilates Biomechanics Trainer™. I have been involved in physiotherapy & the equitation industry since 1995. I studied at the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), where I gained my MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy, and later my PhD in Equine Biomechanics. During this time I worked at the RVC and Liverpool Vet School as a Lecturer in Veterinary Physiotherapy. After finishing my PhD I discovered I still needed to know more about the interaction of the rider and the horse and so I returned to clinical practice, my passion, working with horses and riders. I went on to study Pilates for Horse Riders with the Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute and later Equipilates™ with Lindsay Wilcox-Reid. My passion for horses has lead me to developing physiotherapy treatment programmes including exercise regimes for horses and riders to enable them to reach their full potential whether competing at dressage/cross country or show jumping or enjoying a quiet hack in the country side. There is something incredibly powerful about training a horse when riders work on their own health and fitness as well as their horses’ wellbeing- they are truly able to shine as a powerful combination. Training a horse to become a great athlete is like training a gymnast; it takes great skill, patience and the right training methods. The horse can only reach its full potential if it is pain free and the riders’ body is working in harmony with the horses’ motion. I have been extremely lucky to study and work with some amazing people, and learn from them also. My passion is to help horses and people achieve optimal physical fitness and enable them to work together and thrive as an effective team; I'd love to help you and your horse too. |
